Your first port of call for all information on starting your own business, or growing your existing business should be Dublin City Enterprise Board. Dublin City Enterprise Board was launched in 1993, shortly after the economic tide turned from ebb to flood. The timing was propitious. Fear of failure was being replaced with a realisation that success was achievable for many. Now there was advice, information, financial assistance, mentoring services and practical training programmes to support the entrepreneur.
Inward investment has played an important part in our success, and nobody would argue with that. However, as international competition for such investment, particularly from low cost countries, intensifies, the argument for fostering home-grown businesses embedded in the City grows ever stronger. At Dublin City Enterprise Board, fostering these businesses is our priority, as is the growing and sustaining of an enterprise culture that makes it all possible.
There is great support for the would-be entrepreneur from ourselves and all the other enterprise support agencies listed in the directory section of this Guide to Enterprise in Dublin City, including advice on obtaining Enterprise Advice and Information, Enterprise Space, Financial Assistance and Grants, and Training and Management Development.
